Treatment of Second-Degree Burns
Second-degree burns are very painful and often produce blisters on the skin. The skin will look very red and splotchy, and may be very swollen. A second-degree burn usually takes 2-3 weeks to heal with regular cold compresses and an antibiotic cream. It’s not necessary to see a doctor if you’ve suffered a second-degree burn, but it may be a good idea to avoid scarring and promote better healing.
